Announcement
Today I received a letter of resignation from Vern Fischbach, Past Faithful Navigator and Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee as Chairman. Fischbach’s doctor has recommended that he cut back on some of his activities, hence his resignation. Fischbach has been an excellent Chairman, and he will be missed. We wish him well and will keep him in our prayers. Under the provision of Article 6, Section 4 of the Marian Council By-Laws I as Grand Knight have appointed Bill Lundholm to the Chair for the balance of Fischbach’s term and Jean Snyder, Secretary of the Auxiliary, to fill the remainder of Lundholm’s term on the Committee

I hope all of you had a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year. The last few days ,when I walk into the Hall some Brother Knight reminds me the year is half over. I hope that is not a reflection on my leadership. On balance I believe these first six months have ended on a positive note. Our major events have been successful. The Memorial Mass under Steve Halpin’s leadership; the adult Christmas Party, under the leadership of Dick and Clare Flynn; the Children’s Christmas Party, under the leadership of Brian and Mary Burn’s, and the girl’s Freethrow Contest under the leadership of Warden, Peter Tartaro all have exceeded last year’s participation. We still have 2 major event’s-the Wild Game Dinner in April and the Seminarian’s Dinner. Past Grand Knight and Chairman Mike Salvatore, has not received a date from the Seminary yet.
One of the goals I hoped to accomplice this year was to have our Council achieve Star Council status. One of the requirements for Star Council is we have to meet the membership goal of 36 new members over and above of any losses during the year. This goal is established by Supreme. We just have not been bringing in large groups of new members in the last few years. We still have time to turn this around. You have made this a unique organization. Financially, this has been an exceptional year under Jim Rassmussen’s leadership. Hall rentals are up and with 2 large groups every Friday and Sunday evenings the outlook is rosy.
2 upcoming events you might be interested in are the Nativity Trivia night here at the Hall for Nativity school Friday, January 27th. the contact person is Bill Jasper’s and the other is the Marketing Committee is showing a free movie open to the public here at the Hall Friday, February 3d, 7:30 PM. This effort is designed to bring more people to the Hall and ultimately increase our membership. The contact person is Jason Touw.

Grand Knight Bill Belanger, announced the appointments of Dick and Clare Flynn as the Chairs of the Adult Christmas Party to be held here at the Hall on Friday, December 9th, and Brian and Mary Burns are chairing the Children’s Christmas Party Sunday, December 18th, here at the Hall
